How it works
Metalier is a cold-spray composite decorative metal coating that allows you to make any substrate look as though it’s solid metal. It’s a metal finish, like a veneer, which has two main ingredients – the binder and the metal. There are also important extras – patina, waxes, polishes and nano clear coat.
Morph uses the Metalier water based system to create most of our finishes.
The system contains two major components:
First is
the binder.
The binder is the most important component of the decorative metal coating system. The special ingredients it contains are the result of years of research and development which is ongoing. Without these special binders you don’t have the Metalier Coating and its decorative metal system!
There is a choice of 2 binders:
Solvent-based binder
Water-based binder
Each formulation has its own particular application and benefits. Which one is right to use will depend on the substrate and whether the surface is horizontal or vertical.
Second is
the metals.
The Metalier decorative metal system is available in the following metals:
aluminium
brass
bronze
copper
iron
nickel
gunmetal
gold
…and an infinity of other shades which are mixed here at Morph.
Finishing
Extras
The extras are vital to the finish you desire.
Metalier use their own range of patinas and have developed a Nano Coat to seal the metal finishes and prevent oxidisation.
Patina's
There are currently 3 formulations of patinas within the Metalier range. Each reacts with different metals in different ways.
The beauty of aging with patinas ensures every piece is bespoke.
Nano Metal Clear Coat
Metalier’s Nano Metal Clear Coat is an option when you want to preserve the look created and do not want oxidisation to continue. It is available in both satin and gloss finishes.
